Please see the following volunteer opportunities and visit this page often as we are posting new opportunities often.
The 9th Ward Field of Dreams Project
The 9th Ward Field of Dreams project began in November 2008 after the school system announced the rebuilding of George Washington Carver High School, located in the Upper Ninth Ward. The project team, spearheaded by Athletic Director Brian Bordanick, set out to fundraise $1.85 million to build a state-of-the-art athletic facility. A true community space, the facility will be open to the public. Assistance is needed in the following areas: project management, fundraising and development; communication and public relations. To be a part of this opportunity and bring hope to a neighborhood struggling to get back on its feet, Email Emily Remington or call 504-701-0460 for more information.
