Abstract:
This paper reviews current computerized systems used by states for the storage, analysis and reporting of school and student data. These systems are an important part of maintaining the transparency and accountability of school systems and thereby improving student achievement. The report examines the components needed to improve state data systems and makes policy recommendations to help states accomplish this goal.
