Abstract:
This report, based on a study carried out between October 2005 and September 2006, attempts to document the movements and experiences of students displaced by Hurricane Katrina. It focuses on the short-term effects these experiences had on the public school system in Louisiana during the first academic year following Katrina. This RAND technical report is meant to assist educators and policymakers in planning for and facing future disasters.
